Through a Looking Glass - Print (A2)
Fine Art Print, Gloss Paper
Limited Edition of 150 (in each version)
One of my 'Alice' paintings, this painting started as a homage to one of the teachers who first introduced me to reverse oil painting on glass but evolved in progress into an imagined self-portrait. It is composed of two pieces of glass, the back panel is fully painted with the girl and landscape beyond while the front piece is a painted veil on clear glass. In strong lights the veil moves as the viewer moves past the work and the shadows cast by the veil also change with the available light. In the print the shadow is visible though fixed, and if you look closely the spiralling lines of lace trace a path the pupil of the girl's eye.
About Limited Edition Prints
This image has been created from a high-quality digital photograph of an original work on glass, giclée printed on A2 Archival gloss paper on a vertical alignment, using Archival inks to ensure colour quality and light-fastness. I have chosen to use gloss paper for my larger Fine Art Prints as it allows for greater colour saturation in the printing process, better recreating the depth and detail of the original artwork on glass.
Each print edition is signed and numbered by the artist, comes with a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity, and arrives with a customised label for future framing purposes.
This item is delivered unframed and ships rolled in a cardboard tube.
