One of my 'Alice' paintings, this work was originally a playful interpretation of my experience as an immigrant to the UK and the 'storms in a teacup' I continue to encounter in my quest to belong and blend in. As I worked on it however, the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean dominated the headlines and this work has become increasingly connected, in my head and in my heart, to the millions of people who have dreamed of reaching the UK but never made it.
Since the summer of 2015 20% of the purchase price for each sale of this A2 print has been, and will continue to be, donated to the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) to support their work saving the lives of refugees in the Mediterranean.
A2 prints are 42cm x 59.4cm and ship rolled in a cardboard tube.
