Gilt Butterflies
Conceived of in the depths of an overly long English winter, when all I longed for was sunshine, these miniature works feature reverse painted butterflies on glass. Each butterfly is then backed in metallic leaf to shine more light into your world.
Despite their simplicity, each work in this series is utterly unique. From the butterfly's body, to their wing shape and etched design, to the imperfections in the gilding - no two will ever be the same.
*Note these works have been photographed in studio conditions. In real life they have been imperfectly gilded for effect with a highly reflective mirrored surface.
