In September 2016 my lantern design won a competition at Wakehurst Place, winning me the opportunity to work with the Glow Wild team and Same Sky Brighton in creating a lantern feature for this year's winter lantern trail. My design was inspired by the Purple Emperor butterfly and more photos can be found by clicking here. To see my lanterns in person you will already need to have bought tickets to attend the Glow Wild event sometime during the first three weekends in December.
I was very pleased to be able to support the Big Heart Charity auction by donating my painting "Cottage by the Sea - 1" to their online auction in July 2016. Money raised from the auction will benefit the Chestnut Tree House Charity and Brighton Festival's Umbrella Club. Chestnut Tree House cares for children with life-limiting illnesses offering support and respite to them and their families, while the Umbrella Club provides the children and their families with live art experiences which brighten their days and bring out their smiles. This year's auction raised a total of £38,500.
